FAQ

How come you don’t return phone calls? I want to talk to someone!
We’re a locally owned and operated comedy club.  We have great pricing on tickets, food & beverage and we’d like to keep it that way which is why we perform customer service via email.  It’s the quickest way to get resolution and it prevents us from having to hire a guy named “Eric” who lives in a studio apartment in Katmandu to answer the phones.
Your reservation message line says that if we don’t get a return call, then our reservation is confirmed. I prefer an actual confirmation.
If you need a confirmation, you just need to use the “Reservations” link on our home page.  We will respond to your email with a confirmation provided we receive it at least two hours before showtime.  If you’re making late reservations, just come on in, as we hold 180 people and both our phone message and web ticketing will note sold out if that is the case.

I’ve never been to a comedy club/your club before, how does it work?
Here at SUS Comedy Club, we are fortunate to have a pre-show lounge where guests enter and can enjoy some food & cocktails while they wait to be seated in the main showroom.  We then open the main showroom at approximately 20 minutes before showtime.  The cashier is located at the entrance of the main showroom to recieve/sell tickets.  From there, SUS staff will seat you in the showroom in a manner that best supports the show.  Seating is community seating, so if you are a party of two, you will be sitting with another party of two most likely.

Why aren’t daily deals such as Groupon not accepted for special engagements? How do I know what is or isn’t a special engagement?  What happens if I show up to a special engagement with one of these types of tickets?
Daily Deal type offers, comps and discounts are not accepted for special engagements because the headliner’s compensation for that weekend comes from the ticket sales.  In the business, it’s referred to as a “door deal” and is represented as a % of the door/ticket sales.  Since those are highly discounted offers, it effects the overall compensation.

Guests will know that a weekend is a special engagement because it will be noted on the home page banner for the specific weekend, on the purchase ticket page, in our phone message, as well as, in any posts.

Guests that arrive to a special engagement show with these types of tickets will be notified at the door and be given the option to purchase tickets or to return another time for a non-special engagement show.

Where do you get your comedians?
If you don’t already know their names, it doesn’t take much searching before you find that our headliners are the most relevant comedians on the pop culture comedy scene with a sprinkling of some of the legends!  They are the very ones you love on shows like Chelsea Lately, Showtime, HBO & Comedy Central.  They are the comedians working the biggest club stages nationwide and making their mark in Hollywood.  It’s personal, original, relevant comedy every single weekend!

FOR COMEDIANS

How do I get on a show?

Two ways.  You can submit a link to a performance that we can review or you can come to the open mic.

Do you allow blue humor?
We allow humor.  Make it funny and relevant.

Do you care if comedians perform at other shows in the valley?
No, not at all!  The more stage time you can get the better.  Our only goal is to support you in building your comedy career and help bring the Arizona comedy scene the relevance it deserves.  We’ll be working with local and regional touring companies also to provide a whole range of comedic experiences for valley comedians.

Is there an Open Mic show?
Yes.  Open mic is every Wednesday.  Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm.  Just show up, sign up & then go up!

We also have a monthly showcase we call Friday Night Lights.  Its a great time to see the valley’s up and comers in our main room performing with our weekend headliner.  For spots on this show, call 480.882.0730 or write us at info@standupscottsdale.com

Can comedians hang out at the club?
Comedians are welcomed and encouraged to hang out at the club anytime, free of charge.
